President of the University of Basrah Participates in Executive Leadership Development Program for Presidents of Public Universities
The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, participated in the Executive Leadership Development Program for Presidents of Public Universities, organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / Higher Institute for Leadership Development and Training, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the slogan: “Productive and Effective Iraqi Universities… Leading the Future and Achieving Sustainable Development.”
The program, held from July 14 to 17, 2025, aims to enhance the efficiency of university leaders and develop their skills in strategic management and institutional planning, contributing to the promotion of governance and the achievement of sustainable development goals in higher education institutions.
The program witnessed wide participation from the presidents of 37 public universities from across Iraq and serves as an important platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening integration between universities and government institutions to advance the level of higher education in the country.
Dr. Al-Asadi affirmed that such initiatives represent a strategic step toward empowering academic leaders with modern management tools and strengthening the role of universities in serving society and contributing effectively to national development.
