University of Basrah Collaborates with the Abbasid Shrine’s Digital Library on a Project to Preserve Iraq’s Scientific Output
As part of scientific and cultural cooperation within the framework of the national project “Preserving Iraq’s Scientific Output,” the College of Science at the University of Basrah has joined efforts with the Digital Library of the Abbasid Shrine to serve universities and colleges throughout Iraq.
The project aims to digitize old university theses and convert them from paper format to digital format.
During the meeting, the Dean of the College emphasized the importance of this national initiative, which contributes to the complete digital transformation of the college’s scientific archive, facilitates the preservation and retrieval of scientific output, and enhances access for researchers and librarians to academic resources in a modern and organized manner.
This collaboration is considered a significant step within the College of Science’s efforts to keep pace with digital advancements in higher education, preserve Iraq’s scientific heritage, and ensure its continuity for future generations.
