PhD Dissertation at the University of Basrah Examines Two Cherry Tomato Hybrids
A PhD dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, studied the response of two cherry tomato hybrids grown in plastic greenhouses to foliar spraying with calcium and iron.
The dissertation, presented by Azhar Ward Aboud, aimed to identify the superior hybrid in terms of productivity and adaptability to southern Iraq’s conditions, as well as to analyze the effects of different concentrations of chelated calcium and iron on plant growth.
The research was conducted at the college’s Agricultural Research Station. The results showed that spraying with a concentration of 3 ml/L of calcium and 200 mg/L of iron led to significant improvements in plant growth and yield.
