Doctoral Dissertation at the University of Basrah Examines Soil Erosion Estimation Using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation Model
A doctoral dissertation at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, investigated soil erosion estimation using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) model and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques in northern Maysan and eastern Wasit, Iraq.
The dissertation, presented by student Jumana Hadi Saleh, aims to study potential soil erosion rates (tons/year) using the revised universal soil loss equation across the eastern Iraqi provinces of Wasit, Maysan, and Dhi Qar, extending to the Iraqi-Iranian borders.
The dissertation consists of five chapters in which the student discussed the integration of GIS and remote sensing techniques to improve spatial accuracy and data quality.
