University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on DNA Extraction from Cells
The College of Education in Qurna District at the University of Basrah organized a scientific workshop entitled “How to Extract DNA from Cells,” with the participation of several postgraduate students.
The workshop aimed to train students in precise scientific techniques for extracting genetic material from blood cells and to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge in this field.
The event, presented by Dr. Anwar Nouri Ayoub, Dr. Hind Adnan Nouri, and Lecturer Safa Mohammed Hussein, included a theoretical component that covered an overview of blood components and the functions of its cells. It also provided a brief explanation of the structure, function, and cellular location of genetic material, with a clarification of the fundamental differences between DNA and RNA.
