Scientific Study at the University of Basrah Explores the Production of Nanoparticles
A scientific study conducted at the University of Basrah, prepared by a research team comprising Dr. Basel Abdul-Zahra Abbas and Dr. Adel Jabbar Hussein from the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Hussein Nasser Al-Salman from the College of Pharmacy, investigated the production of nanoparticles supported by plant extracts for potential medical applications.
The study, which was published in Scientific Reports—a journal indexed in Clarivate’s Q1 quartile, with a CiteScore of 6.7 and an impact factor of 3.9—examined the effectiveness of these materials against cancer cells and bacterial infections.
The research concluded that these nanoparticles demonstrated significant efficacy and potential as antioxidants, antimicrobial agents, and in combating cancer cells.
