University of Basrah Faculty Member Publishes a Book on the Legal Framework of Credit Inquiry and Rating Agencies
A new book has been published by I’tidal Abdul-Baqi Yousif Al-Udhub, a faculty member at the College of Law, University of Basrah, and researcher Habayeb Abdul-Hussein Salem, titled:
“The Legal Framework of Credit Inquiry and Rating Agencies: A Comparative Study.”
The book, comprising two chapters across 247 pages, addresses the significant financial developments of the 21st century and the technological advancements in the financial and economic sectors. These changes have led to the evolution of financial management tools and the emergence of new financial instruments, driven by unprecedented global financial openness among countries.
However, this financial expansion and market interconnectivity have not been without drawbacks. The economic crises witnessed globally have resulted in a substantial lack of information among transacting parties—whether states, banks, or companies—highlighting the importance of legal regulation in this area.
