University of Basrah Faculty Member Publishes a Book on Civil Liability Arising from the Birth of a Deformed Child
A new book has been published by Dr. Ghani Risan Jadir and researcher Haider Fayhem Rasan, faculty members at the College of Law, University of Basrah, titled:
“Civil Liability Arising from the Birth of a Deformed Child: A Comparative Legal Study Between Iraqi, Egyptian, and French Law Supported by Judicial Decisions.”
The book, comprising two chapters over 256 pages, examines the issue of civil liability related to the birth of a deformed child—a comparative study of the legal responsibilities associated with birth defects. These defects refer to congenital malformations present at birth or that become apparent days, months, or even years later, but are nonetheless linked to the prenatal stage. Such cases involve children born with physical or mental impairments or disabilities that hinder normal functioning.
