University of Basrah Examines Requirements for Measuring and Disclosure of Sustainable Development in Industrial Companies
A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah examined the requirements for measuring and disclosing sustainable development in industrial companies, according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards.
The study, presented by student Zahir Habib Bahedh, aimed to assess the extent to which the Southern Fertilizer Company and the Petrochemical Industries Company adhere to these requirements, by designing a proposed framework for sustainable disclosure.
The study concluded that the Southern Fertilizer Company demonstrated better performance in adhering to GRI standards.
It recommended promoting sustainable development concepts and adopting the proposed framework, given its role in improving companies' reputation and value among stakeholders.
