University of Basrah Holds Moment of Silence in Remembrance of Genocide Victims
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a moment of silence and mourning in commemoration of all Iraqi martyrs and victims of genocide, marking the National Day for Yazidis and Other Iraqi Communities.
During the event, participants reflected on the atrocities committed by the terrorist group Daesh against the Iraqi people — Arabs, Kurds, and other communities — with particular emphasis on the Yazidi community, which suffered one of the most horrific acts of genocide in recent history.
Organizers affirmed that the genocide committed against the Yazidi people remains one of the most tragic and direct assaults on a defenseless population. They stressed that it is both a national and humanitarian duty to support the families of the victims and ensure they receive appropriate compensation and justice.
