University of Basrah Continues to Serve Pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH)
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Noufel Ali Al-Mubarak, the College of Medicine participated in serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) through the university’s mawkib stationed at the Shalamcheh border crossing, coinciding with the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
A number of staff members and students from the college took part in this initiative, which included providing food and beverages, as well as medical support and treatment through a dedicated medical unit. Services offered included emergency care, treatment of injuries, free medication distribution, and follow-up for chronic cases, in addition to health education and awareness, and around-the-clock availability of first aid supplies and medical equipment throughout the pilgrimage period.
This participation is part of the University of Basrah’s annual community service initiatives, aimed at promoting human solidarity during religious and national occasions.
