PhD Dissertation at the University of Basrah Examines Different Concentrations of Dill Seeds During Various Stages in Ewes
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah has conducted a PhD dissertation on the effect of administering different concentrations of dill seeds during the physiological and productive stages in Awassi ewes.
The dissertation, presented by Abeer Adel Yassin, aimed to investigate the impact of dill seeds on estrus regulation, fertility rate, and fecundity in Awassi ewes.
The study involved 16 Awassi ewes aged between 1.5 and 2 years, with an average weight of 50 ± 3 kg, along with three rams aged between 2 and 3 years and weighing 65 ± 3 kg.
The findings revealed an increase in the concentrations of estrogen, progesterone, and prolactin hormones in the groups treated with dill seeds.
