PhD Dissertation at the University of Basrah Discusses Women’s Activities in the Iraqi Communist Party
A PhD dissertation at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basrah, titled “Women’s Activities in the Iraqi Communist Party (1934–1979)”, examined the role of women in the party since its establishment.
The dissertation, presented by student Raja Kareem Jihad Al-Saedi, aimed to shed light on women’s participation in communist organizations and the national movement, as well as the development of the party’s stance on women’s issues during this period.
The study addressed the general conditions of Iraqi women in the late Ottoman era and the early British occupation, up to the establishment of the Kingdom of Iraq, and highlighted women’s activities in the Communist Party until the collapse of its internal structures in 1979.
