University of Basrah Organizes Symposium on Values Inspired by the Tragedy of Karbala
The Center for Educational Guidance and Psychological Care at the University of Basrah organized an online symposium on educational and moral values inspired by the painful Tragedy of Karbala.
The symposium addressed several themes, focusing on the values of courage, altruism, self-denial, steadfastness in the cause of truth, the promotion of virtue, the inculcation of the principle of sacrifice and the struggle against one's own desires, equality and social justice, and the importance of the event in human thought and conscience. It also provided medical advice related to practicing the ritual of walking towards the holy Karbala.
The symposium called for the inclusion of Husseini values in educational curricula to protect generations from contemporary intellectual and social challenges. It also called for the Karbala Incident to be transformed from a mere annual event into a system of values for teaching young people how to be Husseini in thought, attitude, and behavior.
