Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores the Distribution of Heavy Metals in Oilfield Soils
The College of Science at the University of Basrah discussed a master’s thesis titled “Distribution of Some Heavy Metals in Oilfield Soils.”
The thesis, presented by student Fatima Jasim Ahmed, aimed to assess the concentrations of selected heavy metals in soils within oilfield areas.
The findings revealed elevated levels of certain metals, particularly cadmium and lead, during specific seasons.
The study recommended implementing environmental monitoring programs and applying bioremediation techniques to soils in order to mitigate environmental and health risks.
