PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Design of Molecular Sensors for Glucose and COVID-19 Drugs
A PhD thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah was entitled "Design of Molecular Sensors for Glucose and COVID-19 Drugs Using a Transition Metal-Decorated Nanocage: Quantitative Computational Methods."
The thesis, presented by student Rasha Hani Hamid, aims to develop glucose sensors, hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) detection systems, and nanoplatforms for delivering the drug Favipiravir for the treatment of COVID-19, enhancing medical and environmental applications.
The thesis included the use of density functional theory (DFT) to design and characterize novel nanosystems for bio-based applications.
