Master's thesis at the University of Basrah Examines a Proposed Intrusion Detection System for Internet Networks
The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Basrah has submitted a master's thesis that proposes an advanced intrusion detection system for Internet of Things (IoT) networks based on blockchain and deep learning technologies.
The thesis, presented by student Lina Aziz Sawadi, aimed to build a multi-layered security framework for smart energy networks using hybrid encryption (ECDH-AES) to protect data transmitted from smart meters and integrate intrusion detection techniques with blockchain to enhance security and efficiency. The study also relied on the WCGAN network to generate balanced synthetic data and train CNN and LSTM models, which contributed to significantly improving the accuracy of intrusion detection attempts.
