Faculty Member at the University of Basrah Participates in a Master's Thesis Defense Committee at the University of Baghdad
Dr. Jalal Yassin Mustafa, a faculty member from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, participated in a master's thesis defense committee at the Institute of Genetic Engineering at the University of Baghdad.
The study examined the role of carbapenemase genes in resistance to Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria, which were isolated from human urinary tract infections.
The study concluded that it is necessary to continue the genetic characterization of local isolates and develop natural therapeutic alternatives to support the fight against drug resistance.
