President of the University of Basrah: The Opening of a New Building for the College of Dentistry in Al-Zubair is a Strategic Step Toward a Promising Academic Future
The University of Basrah inaugurated today a new academic building for the College of Dentistry in Al-Zubair District, in the presence of Basrah Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, members of parliament and the provincial council, the university’s Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and a number of deans, as part of the university’s efforts to expand its educational infrastructure and provide advanced learning and research environments.
In his opening remarks, the President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, emphasized that this project represents a qualitative leap in the course of higher education, highlighting that the new building will provide an integrated academic environment that contributes to preparing a generation of students equipped with the competence and knowledge to serve the nation.
Dr. Al-Asadi further explained that the university is moving forward with several strategic projects, most notably the construction of new buildings in Shatt Al-Arab and Abu Al-Khasib districts, in addition to the completion of two research centers and the Department of Computer Science at the Karma Ali campus. He noted that these projects will strengthen the university’s standing and keep pace with the needs of the labor market.
The university president concluded his speech by extending his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the local government, and Al-Zubair District Administration for their support of the university’s efforts. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to its academic and social responsibilities and its dedication to advancing scientific progress in service of Iraq and its people.
