PhD Dissertation at University of Basrah Explores Spatial Variability of Soil Nutrients in Basrah
A PhD dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, examined the spatial variability of micronutrients in selected soils of Basrah Province using geospatial techniques.
The dissertation, presented by Mohammed Jawad Mustafa, aimed to determine the spatial distribution of micronutrients across agricultural lands in both northern and southern Basrah.
The research included field, laboratory, and desk-based work in two study areas, analyzing and classifying soils according to their fertility and micronutrient content, as well as establishing correlations between micronutrients and selected soil properties.
Findings revealed clear differences in both available and total micronutrient levels between the two regions, with northern Basrah soils showing higher nutrient content compared to those in the south.
