Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores the Wives of Prophet Abraham (Peace Be Upon Him) in Religious and Historical Sources
A master’s thesis at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, examined The Wives of Prophet Abraham (Peace Be Upon Him) in Religious and Historical Sources: A Comparative Study.
The thesis, presented by researcher Iman Hassan Hammoud, aimed to study the personality of Prophet Abraham (PBUH), his lineage, and his social and religious upbringing in his homeland, as well as his migrations in which he fled persecution and injustice while carrying in his heart the belief in the Oneness of God. The study also explored his journeys with his family, particularly his wife Sarah—whom God blessed with the birth of Prophet Isaac, followed by Jacob—and the divine trials he endured, including God’s command to migrate with his wife and their son Ishmael to the land of Paran.
The thesis comprised three chapters in which the researcher discussed the social life of Prophet Abraham (PBUH), Lady Sarah and her children, as well as the wives of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) and their offspring.
