Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Studies the Addition of Plant Powder to Juvenile Fish Feed
A master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, investigated the incorporation of Panicum mombasa leaf powder into the diet of juvenile common carp.
The thesis, submitted by researcher Noor Abdul Muhammad Muhammad Hassan, aimed to utilize the plant powder in fish feed as a cost-reduction strategy.
The study found that adding the powder at levels of 25% and 50% had positive effects on growth parameters.
The thesis recommended the use of dried Panicum mombasa leaf powder in the diets of other fish species to help reduce feeding costs.
