University of Basrah Participates in a Terefund Event
Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah, along with a number of faculty members, took part in an event organized by Terefund under the title “Enhancing Resilience to Climate Change in Southern Iraq.”
The event served as the concluding platform for several projects supervised by the Consulting Office of the College of Agriculture, funded by GIZ and with the participation of civil society organizations.
These projects contributed to training farmers, developing educational curricula, and implementing environmentally friendly initiatives such as reducing water waste, preventing overfishing, and cultivating Azolla.
This initiative represents a pioneering model of collaboration between the University, local government, and international organizations.
