University of Basra Participates in the Coordinating Committee Meeting on Drug Control
Dr. Hiba Majid Isa, Director of the University Psychological Counseling Center, represented the University of Basra at the Coordinating Committee meeting on drug control in Basra, organized by the local government under the chairmanship of the Governor’s Advisor for Health and Environment Affairs, Dr. Hussein Al-Jabri.
Dr. Hiba stated that the meeting produced several recommendations, including intensifying public awareness campaigns aimed at educating youth about the dangers of falling into this serious social issue through advertising screens across the city. The recommendations also emphasized promoting lectures, workshops, and awareness seminars to curb the spread of drug abuse in schools and universities, as well as fostering effective partnerships with government and private media organizations to support anti-drug campaigns.
