A master's thesis at the University of Basrah examined the University of Basrah 1964-2003: A Historical Study
The thesis, submitted by student Nadia Hassan Abdul-Sada, aims to conduct a historical study and provide an academic study of the University of Basra from 1964 to 2003, across all its stages and the circumstances it experienced, as well as its scientific achievements and a deeper understanding of its role in higher education. The study concluded that despite the impact of wars and the economic blockade, the university remained resilient as a center of scientific and cultural influence, maintaining its scientific and academic presence.
The thesis includes four chapters, in which the student discusses the founding of the University of Basrah, its stages and development (1964-1979), the organizational and administrative structure of the University of Basrah (1964-1979), the challenges and crises facing the University of Basrah (1980-1990), and the repercussions of political and economic developments in Iraq on the scientific and cultural level of the University of Basrah (1990-2003).
