University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Digital Rumors in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
The Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning at the University of Basrah organized an online workshop on digital rumors in the age of artificial intelligence.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Hala Ghalib Al-Nahi, aimed to raise awareness among researchers and students about the importance of verifying information sources to confirm or refute such rumors using fact-checking tools like Google Fact Check and others.
The workshop addressed the concept and characteristics of digital rumors, the main motivations behind their spread, and their negative effects on society in the AI era, highlighting how fake news can rapidly circulate within communities.
