University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Cultural Heritage and Tourism Development
The Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Tourism and Antiquities Authority, organized a workshop on preserving cultural heritage and developing sustainable tourism strategies in Basrah Governorate.
The workshop addressed ways to protect Basrah’s heritage and mechanisms to utilize it for tourism within sustainable development strategies, enhancing the city’s historical and cultural significance.
It emphasized the importance of integrating institutional and academic efforts to formulate a contemporary vision that preserves the city’s heritage identity while promoting its role in tourism.
