University of Basrah Holds Seminar on the Impact of Climate Change on Insect Pests
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled “The Impact of Climate Change on Insect Pests.”
The session, delivered by Dr. Aqeel Adnan Abdulsayyid, aimed to explain the causes of climate change and its repercussions on agriculture and the environment.
The seminar highlighted the relationship between climate change and the increase or shifts in the spread of insect pests, as well as the effects of climatic changes on crop growth and the plants’ resistance to pests.
It also discussed adaptation strategies to mitigate the spread of pests and emphasized the importance of adopting proposed policies and practices for sustainable agriculture and environmental preservation in the context of climate change.
