University of Basrah Faculty Member Publishes Scientific Research in an International Journal
Dr. Miqdad Al-Hajjaj, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, has published a scientific research paper entitled: “Development and Validation of a Simultaneous HPLC Method for the Determination of Atorvastatin and Apigenin in a Novel SMEDDS Formulation Based on Quality by Design (QbD) Approach,” in the Swiss journal Processes, with an impact factor of 2.8, indexed in both Scopus and Clarivate. The study was conducted in collaboration with researchers from Iraq and other countries.
The research focused on developing a novel analytical system using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the simultaneous analysis of the two drugs within self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems (SMEDDS), along with stability studies and compatibility assessments of their components using the QbD methodology to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
The study aims to innovate precise analytical methods to support the development of modern drug delivery systems, enhance the efficacy of pharmaceutical formulations, and minimize their side effects.
