University of Basrah Holds Online Workshop on the Role of Educational and Psychological Counseling in Supporting Children with Autism
The Continuing Education Center at the University of Basra, in collaboration with the College of Education for Women, held an online workshop titled "The Role of Educational and Psychological Counseling in Supporting Children with Autism."
The workshop aims to raise awareness among teachers, counselors, and parents of the importance of counseling in developing children's abilities and promoting their integration into school and society.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Rafeef Abdul-Hafiz Al-Riyahi and instructor Mutab Abdul-Hussein Dawood, addressed the definition of autism spectrum disorder, its causes, and symptoms, as well as strategies for psychological and educational support, mechanisms for cooperation between families, schools, and the medical team, and presented successful models for integrating children into the educational environment.
