University of Basrah Participates in a Training Workshop on the Implementation of the Institutional Excellence Model
A delegation from the University of Basrah participated in a training workshop titled “Implementation of the Institutional Excellence Model System,” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Directorate of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance, with the participation of representatives from public and private universities in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
The University of Basrah was represented by Dr. Abdul Kareem Taher Yasir, Dr. Ammar Salman Dawood, and Dr. Raheem Khazaal Masoul. The participants discussed the key components of the European Model of Institutional Excellence and its importance in developing institutional performance and enhancing the quality of academic and administrative services within universities.
The workshop covered mechanisms of institutional self-assessment and methods for applying excellence standards in areas such as leadership, strategy, human resources, operations, and outcomes. It also reviewed successful experiences in implementing the model within leading educational institutions.
The University of Basrah delegation emphasized that participation in this workshop aligns with the university’s efforts to strengthen a culture of institutional excellence and embed the principles of quality and continuous improvement, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision of building sustainable academic institutions that adopt outstanding performance as a benchmark for progress and development.
