University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Emerging Pollutants
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop addressing emerging pollutants, their challenges, and treatment methods.
The workshop aimed to introduce these pollutants, their types, and sources.
During the workshop, Dr. Enas Awni Mahdi highlighted the harmful effects of these pollutants on human health and the environment, including their impact on water quality and biodiversity. She also presented the most recent methods for their treatment.
The workshop recommended collaborative efforts to develop comprehensive solutions for these pollutants by monitoring their concentrations, implementing appropriate disposal strategies, updating regulations regarding their handling and release into the environment, and raising public awareness about their hazards to reduce excessive usage in daily life.
