Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Bacteria that Cause Urinary Tract Infections
A master's thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah compared the bacterial environment of urinary tract infections in diabetic and non-diabetic individuals with respect to some biological factors.
The thesis, presented by student Zainab Sadiq Baqir, aimed to identify the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections in diabetic and non-diabetic patients, and to study their resistance to antibiotics and their relationship to their ability to ferment sugars and carry toxin genes.
The thesis concluded that there are clear differences in bacterial species and their resistance, and recommended the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
