University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Microbial Contamination and Its Impact on Public Health for School Students
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on microbial contamination and its effects on school students.
The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of microbial contamination in food and water, its sources, its impact on public health, and preventive measures.
Presented by Dr. Mustafa Abdulwahab Najm and Dr. Nasser Abdullah Helou, the workshop covered the main sources of microbial contamination in school food and water, the types of contaminants and their health effects, microbial contamination in water, the key pathogenic agents transmitted through it, and methods for monitoring water quality and treatment to prevent the spread of diseases and protect public health.
The workshop recommended monitoring the types of food sold to students in schools and raising their awareness about the risks of microbial contamination and how to prevent it.
