For Environmental Sustainability… University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Green Chemistry Applications
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a workshop addressing the relationship between chemistry and environmental issues.
The workshop, led by Dr. Sita Aram Kerok, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of using green chemistry in environmental sustainability plans, as well as designing eco-friendly chemical energy sources free from pollutants and carbon emissions of carbon monoxide and dioxide, while reducing dependence on hazardous solvents.
The workshop discussed applications of green chemistry in pharmaceutical industries, fertilizer and biochar production, construction and textile fields, as well as waste recycling and the production of safer solvents.
