University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Suicide and Its Psychological Effects
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled "Suicide and its Psychological Effects: Its Causes and Symptoms." The lecture addressed the psychological and medical aspects of suicide and the factors influencing an individual's personality.
The lecture, delivered by faculty member Jinan Nasouri Ahmed, aimed to raise awareness of mental health and prevent mental disorders through the development of psychosocial support strategies.
It addressed causes related to the family, society, and the educational environment, as well as the role of teachers in reducing or increasing suicide rates.
The lecture recommended the need to open channels of communication with young people and encourage them to deal consciously with problems and consult psychological specialists without being subject to societal perceptions.
