University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Occupational Safety and Health
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop titled “Occupational Safety and Health” for postgraduate students, as part of the CPRN program directed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The workshop featured a lecture by Dr. Anwar Abdul-Hassan Aboud from the College of Chemical Engineering, who discussed the concept of occupational safety and health as a scientific discipline concerned with preserving human safety and well-being from potential risks, diseases, and workplace accidents.
Dr. Aboud emphasized that the implementation of occupational safety and health programs relies on several key goals and practices, including administrative commitment to applying relevant laws and regulations to ensure a safe work environment, providing employees with appropriate protective equipment, raising awareness and promoting safety education, assessing training programs, and reviewing safety standards in line with international guidelines.
