For Sustainable Environmental Development: University of Basrah Organizes Lecture on the Use of Nanotechnology in Oil Pollution Removal
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture titled “Using Nanotechnology in Oil Pollution Removal: From Laboratory to Field Application.”
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Amjad Neama Jassim, aimed to highlight the exceptional potential of nanoparticles in developing effective and sustainable solutions for treating oil pollution, thereby contributing to environmental restoration and the protection of water and soil resources.
The lecture discussed the transition of nanotechnology from laboratory research to real-world applications, focusing on the use of nanoparticles capable of absorbing oil, oxidizing or stabilizing pollutants, reducing the spread of oil spills, and facilitating their separation from the environment.
