University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on the Concept, Classification, and Measurement Methods of Cost
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled “The Concept, Classification, and Measurement Methods of Cost.”
The seminar, presented by Dr. Shurooq Khalaf and Lecturer Zahraa Abdul-Hussein, aimed to clarify the concept of cost as a sacrifice of an economic resource to obtain future benefit, highlighting its importance in supporting administrative decision-making.
It also discussed the role of cost in comparing different administrative alternatives based on scientific principles, and its contribution to achieving economic efficiency, increasing profits, and improving resource utilization to enhance institutional sustainability.
