University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Early Detection of Breast Cancer
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture titled "Breast Cancer Screening."
The lecture aimed to promote health education within the university and support community awareness programs to combat dangerous diseases, particularly breast cancer, which is the most common cancer among women worldwide.
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Rafid Abdul-Jabbar Muhammad, addressed the importance of early screening for breast cancer and its role in increasing survival rates and reducing mortality rates among women. It also explained risk factors, prevention methods, and the latest diagnostic methods such as self-examination, ultrasound, and mammography.
The lecture recommended the following: Commitment to annual early screening for women over the age of forty; spreading awareness within and outside the university community; adopting healthy preventive programs that support a healthy lifestyle; and organizing periodic early detection campaigns within the university.
