University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Chemical Safety
The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, organized a workshop titled “Chemical Safety in the Laboratories of the Department of Chemistry.”
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among fourth-year students about the importance of adhering to safety procedures inside laboratories, recognizing chemical warning symbols, and learning safe handling methods for materials and glassware.
Presented by Dr. Hasanain Abdulsamad Abdulmajid and lecturer Hawraa Kareem Dhaif, the workshop covered both educational and practical aspects of laboratory safety principles.
The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing full compliance with safety requirements and caution in handling chemicals to ensure the safety of students and staff.
