University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Probiotics and Prebiotics
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled "Probiotics and Prebiotics: Their Role in Public Health."
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Nawras Abdul-Ilah Alwan and Dr. Maysam Ali Hassan on the concept of probiotics and prebiotics and their relationship to animal and human health. The lecture discussed their importance, mechanism of action, and how to obtain them.
The workshop recommended emphasizing the importance of probiotics and their proper use, preferably from natural sources, but also from manufactured sources such as nutritional supplements.
