University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on Awareness and Education as a Means of Supporting the Deaf and Mute in Society
The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basrah organized an awareness symposium entitled "Awareness and Education: The Role of Society in Supporting the Deaf and Mute."
The symposium aimed to raise community awareness of the needs of the deaf and mute population, present the necessary educational methods to support this group, and encourage discussion about the role of society in improving their quality of life. The symposium also highlighted the importance of awareness as a means of promoting social integration.
The symposium included lectures delivered by faculty members Aladdin Karim Atshan, Dr. Nadia Ali Hussein, and Azhar Kamel Nasser. The faculty members addressed effective strategies for communicating with the deaf and mute, the importance of psychological and social support, and how to enhance this group's participation in society.
