University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Workshop on RNA Extraction from Cells
The College of Education in Al-Qurna at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled “RNA Extraction from Cells.”
The workshop aimed to train students in precise scientific methods for extracting genetic material (RNA) from blood cells, while enhancing their theoretical and practical knowledge in molecular laboratory techniques.
Presented by Dr. Adnan Badr Ghalib, Dr. Anwar Nouri Ayoub, and Dr. Hind Adnan Nouri, the workshop discussed the components of blood and the functions of its cells, in addition to explaining the structure, functions, and cellular locations of genetic material, while clarifying the fundamental differences between DNA and RNA.
The workshop also included a detailed explanation of the steps involved in RNA extraction and its use in experimental and research applications, contributing to the development of postgraduate students’ skills in the applied fields of molecular sciences.
