University of Basrah Organizes an Educational Lecture on Diseases Transmitted Through Coins
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah organized an educational lecture titled “Diseases Transmitted Through Coins,” as part of the museum’s awareness program aimed at promoting health consciousness among employees, students, and visitors.
The lecture aimed to enhance general health awareness and promote preventive practices within the university community, contributing to the reduction of infectious disease transmission and the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.
Delivered by Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Imam Al-Mazni, the lecture discussed the health risks associated with handling coins and paper money, the ways certain pathogens can spread through them, and the preventive measures recommended to minimize these risks — such as regular handwashing and the use of electronic payment methods whenever possible.
