University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on the Phenomenon of Spinsterhood
The Center for Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled “The Phenomenon of Spinsterhood: Causes and Social Implications.”
The seminar, presented by Dr. Adnan Enad Ghiyadh, aimed to analyze the phenomenon of delayed marriage, explore its underlying causes, and examine its social and psychological effects on both the individual and the community, while seeking practical solutions to mitigate its prevalence.
The discussion addressed the definition of the phenomenon, the variation in its rates between Arab and European countries, and the root causes behind its escalation, in addition to its social and economic impacts on population groups.
