University of Basrah Lecturer Participates in a Symposium at Al-Noor University
Dr. Qais Nasser Rahi, a faculty member at the Center for Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies at the University of Basrah, participated in a scientific symposium on cultural diversity in Iraq. The event was organized by the College of Law and Political Sciences at Al-Noor University in Nineveh Governorate, in collaboration with the Iraqi Center for Documenting Extremism Crimes.
The research aimed to highlight the importance of cultural diversity as a unifying national value, promote social understanding, and foster an intellectual environment that reinforces a culture of tolerance and acceptance of others within a comprehensive national framework.
Dr. Rahi presented a paper entitled “Cultural Diversity in Iraq: State Challenges and Opportunities for Coexistence,” in which he addressed the recognition of cultural diversity, the importance of promoting a discourse that embraces pluralism, the role of the war on terrorism in uniting Iraqis, and the contribution of the Supreme Religious Authority in fostering peaceful coexistence.
