University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on polymerase chain reaction (PCR): steps and application.
The workshop aimed to train researchers and postgraduate students on the fundamentals of polymerase chain reaction, also known as PCR, and related techniques, given the importance of this technology in investigating pathogens.
The workshop included a lecture presented by Dr. Rasha Munther and Dr. Hassan Mohammed, covering two parts: a theoretical component introducing the fundamental principles of both techniques, and a practical component involving laboratory application where participants amplified a gene using a PCR machine and then transfected the resulting sample using electrophoresis.
