University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on the Relationship Between Dietary Habits and Mental Health
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific workshop entitled "Healthy Nutrition and its Relationship to Mental Health... Towards Societies Free from Addiction and Suicide."
The workshop aimed to clarify the relationship between the type and timing of meals and their impact on genetic patterns and human behavior, indicating that following unhealthy eating habits or eating at times that contradict the body's circadian rhythm contributes to an increase in mental disorders.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Nawfal Abdul-Amir Hussein, emphasized that improving dietary habits, both in terms of quantity and quality, and avoiding large meals in the evening, are among the most important keys to preventing or treating mental illness, addiction, and suicide.
