University of Basrah Implements Tree-Planting Initiative to Promote Environmental Sustainability
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basrah Environment Directorate, implemented a tree-planting initiative as part of the campaign to plant 20,000 trees launched by the Iraqi Council of Ministers. A total of 150 seedlings were planted in the college gardens.
The campaign saw the participation of the college dean, his deputies, the head of the Accounting Department, and several staff members, emphasizing the importance of expanding green spaces and raising awareness of sustainable environmental practices.
This initiative aligns with the university’s efforts to support government strategies to combat desertification, improve the campus environment, and promote the concept of sustainable development within academic institutions.
